Meet our staff members

 Lynda Belt
Exhibit Designer and Festival Coordinator

Becky Condra
Field Trip Teacher

I retired from full time teaching in 2016 after 40 years of teaching. My husband is retired military and we moved to Washington in 1994. I first visited the Karshner Museum because of my children’s field trips there. I fell in love with the place and have been doing volunteer work there ever since. So, I am thrilled to be teaching field trips on a part time basis. It’s a perfect match!!

Celestina Gonzalez
Field Trip Teacher

Celestina has been working at the Karshner Center for five years. Before joining the Karshner team she taught 3rd and 2nd grade in the Puyallup School District and bilingual 2nd grade in the Walla Walla School District. In her current position, Celestina loves teaching and leading field trips to a variety of age groups as well as creating new curriculum and learning opportunities for students.

When not at work Celestina loves hanging out with her family, reading, writing, and cheering on her Gonzaga Basketball team. GO ZAGS!

Karen Higgins
Karshner Center and Arts Coordinator

Karen has been with the Puyallup School District since 1998 in various support positions.  She has been at Karshner Center since the 2013-14 school year. She is the first person you will encounter when you call, visit or email us.  She schedules and coordinates fields trips and events at Karshner Center as well as supports the Arts Education department for the Puyallup School District.

In her spare time, Karen likes hanging with her family, friends and fur baby, playing in the many lakes around our area and helping in the community.

Diane Vitzthum
Custodian

Diane has been with the Puyallup School District since 2015. She is usually the last person at the museum so she cleans up after every one, setups up for the following days events and turns the lights off and arms the building on her way out the door.  Prior to the school district she worked 30+ years for the News Tribune in the production department.  In her spare time she loves to spend time with her grandkids and her family. She also likes to work in the yard and enjoys the rewards of her labor.
