This is a jar made of kiln-fired clay. It was made using traditional pottery techniques and, like many vessels of this size and shape, was used for holding and carrying liquids.

While every artist and crafter has their own unique signatures, the overall design of this jar suggests some of the various styles found in Latin America, specifically the Guadalajara region of Mexico, where this jar was made.
