January 20, 2018: Rhythms & Dance of West Africa
The Karshner Museum and Center for Culture & Arts welcomes Gansango Music & Dance on Saturday, January 20, 2018.

The FREE family festival will celebrate Rhythms and Dance of West Africa from noon to 5 p.m. and will feature Gansango Music & Dance. Performers will present traditional dance and music from West Africa - drawing on the stunning talent of multicultural dancers and musicians.

Gansango company collaborating artists perform regularly in the Seattle area, nationally and internationally for audiences of all ages.

This family festival will feature performances, a dance workshop, a percussion workshop, mask-making, adinkra, mud cloth and batik art projects. 

Drumming Workshop – 12:30 pm - 1:15 pm

Read Alouds - 1:15 pm – 2 pm

Performance – 2 pm – 3 pm

Read Alouds - 3 pm - 3:30 pm

Dance Workshop - 3:30 pm -4:15 pm

Arts and Crafts - All Day except during Performance (2 pm – 3 pm)
