What do you think these are?

Where did they come from?

What were they used for?

Answers:

What do you think these are?

Believe it or not, these are beaver teeth! They were collected in the 1980s from one of the large semiaquatic rodents which was already deceasaed.

Where did they come from?

These particular teeth came from the Pacific Northwest.

What were they used for?

Beavers use their large teeth to gnaw through wood, which they both eat and use to construct dams and lodges. Beaver teeth are orange because they contain magnesium and iron, which make their teeth particularly strong!
