Artifact of the Week: Makah Fishing Float

What do you think this was used for?

Who made it? What is it made of?

This is a float made for fishing, probably for use with a fishing net.

It was made by the Makah Indians in the area of Neah Bay, out of the stomach of a sea lion. It was donated to the Karshner Center in 1935.
