Culture & Arts Festivals
Noon—5 pm

10.12.19       Trappers & Pioneers FestivalA fun day of pioneers, trappers and history of Pierce County complete with music, dancing, art projects, stations of activities from Fort Nisqually, Fort Steilacoom, Washington State History Museum. Squirrel Butter will entertain us with old timey folk songs and sing-alongs. From noon - 5 pm, admission is free.

11.2.19         Dinosaurs & Endangered Species Science Festival: A family festival featuring interactive stations and displays brought to you by Seattle’s Pacific Science Center. Their Science on Wheels program is called “Rock N Roll” with activities about rocks, crystals, volcanos and earthquakes. Also, by the Burke Museum, called “Dig In’ with activities about dinosaurs, fossils, and lots more.  There will other activities, read-alouds, games with dinosaurs, a movie or two and maybe… a visit from Pt. Defiance Zoo. From noon - 5 pm, admission is free.

9.19.19         Kids Club Kickoff: Karshner Kids Club is in its second year.  Students K-7 can join for free, receive a membership badge, a passport and monthly newsletters.  By completing activities at home and at the Museum they can earn points and prizes.  Special events and activities are planned for Kids Club around history, cultures, science, art and more. From 4 - 7pm, admission is free.

10.17.19       Pioneers & Covered Wagons/Kids Club: A fun kids club event with scavenger hunts, art projects, a movie, more pioneer games, and dancing. An extra special guest! Elementary music groups will sing, and we can sing and dance along. From 4 - 7 pm, admission is free.

10.10.19       Secretary of State’s Legacy Washington Exhibit “1968: The Year That Rocked Washington” Reception: The Grand Opening and reception for the Legacy Exhibit with dignitaries from the Secretary of State’s office, the honorees of the exhibit whose stories are told in attendance with refreshments. From 6 - 8 pm, admission is free.
