Karshner Center to Host K-12 Art Show and Artists in Action Festival in May
Posted on 05/11/2022

The Karshner Center has two incredible art events coming up in May that you won’t want to miss!

Help us celebrate our amazing student artists at the 22nd Annual K-12 Vesey/Munson Art Show on May 13-18. Viewing hours are listed below.

The Vesey/Munson Art Show is held in honor of two veteran Puyallup School District art teachers who inspired both students and teachers. The K-12 art show began in 1998 and continues today. Each school in the Puyallup School District submits their best student artwork to be showcased at the Karshner Center and district offices. The culmination of the show is a reception for students and their families where special recognition is given for the Superintendent’s Award, Best of Show for Elementary and Secondary students. Arts Downtown has supported the show for many years with cash prizes for the judges’ favorites, and ribbons are awarded to 1st through 4th place pieces in a variety of categories.

As an added highlight, the Karshner Center will have pieces from four accomplished artists from Pierce County on display as part of Youth Arts Month during the month of May. Patsy Suhr O’Connell, Mauricio Robalino, Ron Snowden, and Peter Boome’s works will be on display from May 3-26 during regular hours and the times listed below for the Vesey/Munson Show.
